One person was critically injured late Monday night in a wrong-way collision on Highway 135 in Orcutt, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.
Firefighters and other emergency personnel were dispatched at about 9:40 p.m. to the crash on Highway 135 near the Clark Avenue southbound offramp, fire officials said.
The wrong-way driver was northbound on Highway 135 when his vehicle slammed into a southbound vehicle, fire officials said.
The wrong-way driver, a man in his 40s, suffered major injuries, and had to be extricated from the wreckage.
He was transported by AMR ambulance to Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria.
His name and details on his condition were not available.
The driver of the other vehicle, a man in his 20s, declined medical treatment.
The collision was under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
