The city of Goleta will host the first Coffee & Community/Café y Comunidad of the new year, 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11 at Armitos Park, intersection of S. Kellogg and Armitos avenues in Old Town.

This is a free, family-friendly community event with Spanish interpretation. Those attending can meet with Mayor Paula Perotte, District 2 Councilmember James Kyriaco, and city staff members.

Pastries will be provided from Goleta Bakery and coffee and hot chocolate from Old Town Coffee.

“This is a great way to start out the new year,” said Perotte said. “Bring the whole family. We can’t wait to connect with you and meet with Old Town neighbors.”

“There is so much happening in Old Town, and this is a great opportunity to get updates and share ideas to carry forward into the future,” said Kyriaco.

The gathering will be in the recently opened Community Garden. There is a playground to keep the kids occupied, and the Goleta Valley Library will be there as well.

The city holds Coffee and Community events throughout the year in each of the four districts. The first one of year is in District 2.
