Nita Holman Longanecker passed away on Dec. 24, 2024 in Santa Barbara. Born in Pasadena, California, in 1930 to Joseph and Gladys Holman, Nita was one of five happy, talented children.

She moved away after marriage and proceeded to live in nine different cities during her lifetime.

Nita’s contentment and happiness lay in her roles as wife, mother, hostess, friend and poet. She succeeded at all admirably.

Her last move was to Santa Barbara to live with her older sister June Rios. They enjoyed 16 years of travel, fun, games and companionship before June’s death on Dec. 18, 2024, followed by Nita’s on Christmas Eve.

Nita is survived by her sons Michael and David, and their wives Celie and Melissa; her daughter Marsha; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

A memorial service for both of these lovely sisters will be announced at a later date.
