Dos Pueblos High School is in the market for a new athletic director.

After convening in-house, the school has extended its search and the position is open for anyone to apply.

According to the application, the purpose of the position is “to provide for the overall leadership and coordination among the various sports to facilitate programs that provide worthwhile learning experiences for students.”

The newest leader of Charger athletics will be replacing Dan Feldhaus, who has served 17 years at the helm. Feldhaus will return to a teaching and coaching position at Dos Pueblos.

“I can’t thank Dan enough for leading Charger athletics for almost two decades with integrity, passion, and always reminding us what it means to be a Charger,” Dos Pueblos principal Bill Woodard said. “Dan’s experience and leadership have earned him the respect beyond DP as his fellow athletic directors often look to him for guidance and advice.

“Being an athletic director overseeing 25 sports is one of a high school’s most important positions and Dan always did it the right way. We are excited to see him get a chance to return to teaching and coaching at DP for years to come.”
