Local author and restaurateur Christine Gallagher celebrated the release of her new novel, Ruby’s Revenge, with a Feb. 16 book launch event at Plenty on Bell in Los Alamos.

The intimate gathering at the restaurant, which Gallagher co-owns with chef Jesper Johansson, featured a reading, book signing, and wine and hors d’oeuvres for attending family, friends and fans.

A former Los Angeles psychotherapist, Gallagher has built a diverse writing career that includes TV movie screenplays, humorous nonfiction and launching the Divorce Party trend with her book, The Divorce Party Handbook.

Her latest work was inspired by her internationally published book, The Woman’s Book of Revenge.

Ruby’s Revenge follows protagonist Ruby Bixler as she uncovers her husband’s affair and fights to save her home, transforming from a people-pleaser into a stronger, more empowered woman.

The novel, which has drawn comparisons to works by Gail Honeyman and Taylor Jenkins Reid, blends dark humor with themes of betrayal, self-discovery and personal triumph.
