Carpinteria High’s winter sports squads found plenty of team and individual success during the 2024-25 season, and as a result many student-athletes were named to All-League teams.
From the pool to the hardwood, here are the Warriors who were at the top of their game during the Citrus Coast League season.
Girls Water Polo
Carpinteria High was a dominant force in league play this season, putting together an undefeated 8-0 record for a league title. The Warriors were led by head coach Jon Otsuki, who was named the CCL Coach of the Year.
Sophomore sensation Hazel Dugre routinely filled up the stat sheet for Carpinteria, and her stellar play was rewarded by being named the Citrus Coast League MVP.
Senior Giulia Piccoletti capped off her high school career in style with an All-League First Team selection. She was joined by the freshman pairing of Gwen Postma and Holiday Smith on the First Team.
Carpinteria’s young talent was featured on the All-League Second Team as sophomore Mina Handell and freshman Madison Lee were named to the team.
Senior Allison Banks and the sophomore duo of Lucy Moore and Caden Lemere rounded out the Warrior honorees as All-League Honorable Mentions.
Girls Soccer
The Warrior girls soccer team used a strong team defense to turn in a solid Citrus Coast League season, going 7-2-2 to clinch a second-place finish.
The defensive effort was led by an impressive year from senior Natalie Gonzalez, who gave up just 11 goals in 19 total games on the season. As a result, she was named the CCL Goalie of the Year for the third straight season.
While Gonzalez was locking down opposing offenses, junior Evelyn Lara, junior Vivian Huskins and senior Charlotte Stoops were dominating the rest of the field and were named to the All-League First Team.
The past, present and future of Carpinteria girls soccer were featured on the All-League Second Team in senior Makenna Tobin, junior Lacey Zimmerman and freshman Emerson Hill.
Senior Averi Alexander, senior Karolina Casas and junior Logan Labistour had solid seasons of their own and were named All-League Honorable Mentions.
Boys Soccer
The Warrior boys soccer squad ended the season in fifth place in the Citrus Coast League after putting together a record of 4-6-1.
Senior Brennan Van Wingerden was a standout for Carpinteria and was the team’s lone representative on the All-League First Team.
Fellow senior Pedro Campuzano also had a strong final year as a Warrior, earning an All-League Second Team selection.
Junior Drew Filippini, sophomore Adrian Levinson and sophomore Cesar Jaime capped off the soccer honorees as All-League Honorable Mentions.
Boys Basketball
The Warrior boys basketball team had a strong Citrus Coast League season to the tune of an 8-3 record and third-place finish.
The senior pairing of Sebastian Reed and Carlo Suarez put up big numbers for Carpinteria and were named to the All-League First Team.
Seniors Sawyer Kelly and Aiden Alcaraz also showcased the talent of the Warrior Class of 2025 by earning spots on the All-League Second Team.
As for the All-League Honorable Mentions, senior Luke Fancher, junior Sammy Medel and sophomore Chris Reed represented the Warriors.
Girls Basketball
The Carpinteria girls basketball team also notched a third-place finish in the Citrus Coast League after going 6-5 on the season.
The junior duo of Charlotte Cooney and Jamaica Cook were dominant forces for the Warriors throughout the year en route to being named to the All-League First Team.
Senior Penny Wrought brought an end to her Carpinteria career with an All-League Second Team selection while freshman Aubrey Alcaraz began her career with one.
Junior Rihanna Arreola wrapped up the Warrior All-League honorees by making the Honorable Mention list.
