San Marcos 5, Rio Mesa 0
The Royals cruised to a sweeping win over the Spartans on Tuesday at Ridgway Courts.
“With the rain having passed and the wind picking up, the afternoon provided a good opportunity for the team to work on ball control and smart play,” San Marcos head coach Tim Loomer said. “Each line proved to be up to the task.”
Sam Fallon and Evyn Miller cruised at line one with a 21-3, 21-10 win while Charlotte Hastings and Paige Hoadley came together for a 21-9, 21-11 win at court two.

Ventura 4, Santa Barbara High 1
The Dons dropped a competitive league matchup with Ventura at East Beach on Tuesday.
The No. 1 duo of Keenan Engebretson and Lola Heckman secured the lone victory for Santa Barbara with a 21-11, 21-11 win.
“I have nothing but compliments for these two – they looked confident and in control,” Dons head coach Kristin Hempy said of her top squad. “Lola did a great job passing and defending, and Keenan had excellent communication and execution with her shots on offense.
“They continue to be a strong ones pair for us, leading the way with their poise.”
While the Dons did drop the rest of the matchup, the No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 matchups all went three sets.
“These ladies battled hard, but our unfortunate trend seems to be struggling to close out third sets,” Hempy said. “The good news is we are right there in a lot of these matches, and so I know the girls will continue to work hard and fine tune their game, as we continue to push ourselves in league.”
Santa Barbara will be on the road against Rio Mesa on Thursday.
