Dos Pueblos boys lacrosse picked up another non-league victory over West Ranch by a score of 17-6 on Friday at Scott O’Leary Stadium.
The Chargers are now 7-0 to begin their campaign with six wins coming against non-league opponents.
“I was really happy with the way our offense played today,” Dos Pueblos head coach Lucas Martinez said. “We came in focused and energized, and we played as a unit. They did a great job moving offball and finding the looks to set up high percentage shots.”
The Charger offense found its groove early thanks to Cal Denier’s 24-for-28 performance in faceoffs. Dos Pueblos poured on 12 goals in the opening half to build up a 12-4 lead by halftime.
West Ranch was then held to just two second-half goals as the Chargers ran away with the 17-6 win.
Sophomore midfielder Koa Birchim shined for Dos Pueblos with three strong goals from the outside.
“I was really proud of the way Koa played,” Martinez said. “He executed what we’ve been practicing and put himself in great shooting positions, and then he was surgical with his shots.”
Meanwhile, the trio of Jack Finneran (3 goals, 3 assists), Dan Finneran (4 goals, 2 assists) and Orion Prewarski (2 goals, 5 assists) turned in impressive all-around performances.
The Chargers will host Castaic for another non-league contest on Saturday at 1 p.m.
