Dos Pueblos boys golf pulled out a non-league victory over Santa Ynez High on Thursday at Alisal River Course, a par 72.

The Chargers came together to shoot a 395 while the Pirates carded a combined 437 on the day.

A stellar performance from medalist Scott Nightingale led the way for Dos Pueblos, as he shot a three-under-par 69 to lead all golfers.

“Scott’s ball-striking was dialed in, and despite the tricky winds, he kept his shots on target, with every strike feeling like it came off the tee with laser precision,” Charger head coach Kevin Ahlers said.

“But it was his putter that stole the show, as Scott drained several long-range putts, including a jaw-dropping 25-foot eagle on the par 5 11th. If you weren’t paying attention, you missed a clinic in putting under pressure.”

Nightingale was followed by his teammates Teddy Vigna (74), Laith Reynolds (80), Orlando Ramirez Gijon (85) and Colt Roberts (87).

Meanwhile, Santa Ynez’s top golfer was Cody Armenta, who ended with a score of 81.

The other Pirate golfers were Elijah Navarro (87), Ernie Suarez (87), Max Andrade (89) and Seb Perez (93).

The Chargers will take on rival Santa Barbara High in a non-league match on Friday at Santa Barbara Golf Club.
