Carpinteria High track & field split a Citrus Coast League meet with Santa Paula on Thursday.

The Warrior girls remained undefeated in league action with an 88-37 win while the boys team fell by a score of 82-45.

“It was another positive step forward for the Warriors,” Carpinteria High head coach Van Latham said. “We continue to discover and refine our capabilities. We had 48 PRs on the day. We are positioning ourselves for a strong final month of the season.”

Vivian Huskins, Melani Avalos and Averi Alexander led the charge for the Carpinteria girls as double individual event winners.

Huskins won the 100-meter (13.50) and the 200-meter (27.74), Avalos came in first in the shot put (32-3.5) and discus (107-4) and Alexander took home first place in the long jump (15-10) and the triple jump (34-7).

Izzy Scott registered a personal-record time of 51.13 seconds in the 300-meter hurdles and Kaydance Gardner crossed the finish line first in the 400-meter with a personal best of 1:05.30.

On the boys side, Max Soto took first place in the 1,600-meter and the 3,200-meter with times of 4:54.47 and 10:55.42, respectively.

Nathan Carrillo also won a pair of events in the 110 high hurdles (19.05) and the 300-meter (48.10). Sawyer Kelly claimed first place in the triple jump at 38-1.5 and the high jump at 4-10.

The Warriors will host Fillmore for another league meet next Thursday.
