Community members are invited to attend Poetry in Parks, 1-4 p.m. Saturday, April 12 at Alhecama Theatre, 215A E. Canon Perdido St., Santa Barbara.

The free family-friendly afternoon will include creative literacy in the form of poetry, music and storytelling. The event will feature students, poet laureates, Flamenco dancers, and local organizations performing their inspirational experiences.

Poetry in Parks is funded by Arts in California Parks, a new program that supports artists, culture bearers, California Native tribes, and communities in creating art that offers perspective on our past and present.
