Santa Barbara Education Foundation (SBEF) will honor individuals and programs making strides to help Santa Barbara’s students reach their full potential at the Hope Awards event, 5:30-8 p.m. Thursday, April 24.

The event will be at the Santa Barbara Historical Museum, 136 E. De La Guerra St., Santa Barbara.

Margie Yahyavi, former SBEF executive director, will be honored posthumously for her dedication to public education and nonprofit leadership, enriching the lives of students and the Santa Barbara community.

Children’s Creative Project will be lauded for its advocacy and support of arts education in local schools, fostering creativity and cultural enrichment for students.

The event will spotlight the impact of teachers in the community, with proceeds from the evening supporting SBEF’s Teacher Grants and Student Grants programs.

Prior to the awards program, there will be a reception with food and beverages from local restaurants, wineries and breweries.
