Santa Barbara Humane’s 2025 Wild West Fest raised some $100,000 — more than 40% above last year’s total — in support of the organization’s Santa Maria Campus
Now in its second year, the event drew a record 249 guests, a 35% increase over 2024; and sponsorships more than doubled.

Every dollar raised will directly benefit the Santa Barbara Humane’s Santa Maria Campus, helping to provide vital services such as low-cost veterinary care; affordable dog training; pet food assistance; and adoption services for Santa Maria and nearby communities.
“We’re incredibly proud of how Santa Maria continues to rally for animals in need,” said Paige Van Tyul, chief philanthropy officer at Santa Barbara Humane. “Wild West Fest has become a true local tradition, one that brings our mission to life in a joyful and meaningful way.”
From western-themed décor to spirited bidding led by auctioneer John Glines, the evening was both a celebration and a call to action. Guests showed their support through ticket sales, silent and live auctions, a fund-a-need, and conversations about the impact of local animal welfare programs.
“It was amazing to see our Santa Maria neighbors come out in support of local animals,” said Naomi Ramirez, shelter supervisor at Santa Barbara Humane’s Santa Maria Campus. “This kind of community spirit is what makes Santa Maria so special.”
Santa Barbara Humane will be marking its 138th anniversary on April 18.
