Lacrosse in Santa Barbara has slowly grown over recent years, and the 2025 high school season showed the abundance of talent in the area.
The Dos Pueblos boys and San Marcos girls teams enjoyed dominant Channel League campaigns, and they headline six local lacrosse teams who will be competing in the CIF-SS Playoffs.
Boys Lacrosse
The Chargers put together a historic regular season, going 18-0 for the program’s first-ever undefeated season. They also cruised to their second straight Channel League championship.
As a result, Dos Pueblos received the top seed in Division 2 and a first-round bye. The Chargers will host either El Segundo or Orange Lutheran on Friday, May 2 at 5 p.m. at Scott O’Leary Stadium.
El Segundo (11-4, T-1st in Ocean League) and Orange Lutheran (9-8, At-Large Bid from Trinity League) will face off on Tuesday in El Segundo.
Santa Barbara High went 6-8 in the regular season and took second in the Channel League, earning a spot in the CIF-SS Div. 3 playoffs.
The Dons will host Woodbridge, who went 8-10 and finished third in the Pacific Coast League, on Monday at 5 p.m. at Peabody Stadium.
Cate finished just behind the Dons, registering a record of 5-5 and a third-place finish in the Channel League to punch its ticket to the CIF-SS Div. 3 playoffs.
The Rams will hit the road to take on Millikan of Long Beach on Monday at 5 p.m. Millikan went 11-6 in the regular season and slotted into third place in the Moore League.
Girls Lacrosse
The Royals went a stellar 17-2 during the regular season, including an undefeated run in Channel League action to claim their second league title in as many years.

San Marcos will open its CIF-SS Div. 2 playoff run with a home match against Laguna Beach on Monday at 5 p.m. at Warkentin Stadium. Laguna Beach went 16-2 and placed second in the Pacific Coast League.
Cate finished just behind the Royals in the Channel League standings, going 7-4 to take home third place and be slotted into the CIF-SS Div. 3 playoffs.
The Rams received a first-round bye and will take on Beckman on the road on Thursday at 5 p.m. Beckman went 9-8 in the regular season and was the co-champion of the Sea View League.
Dos Pueblos rounds out the local playoff competitors after going 9-9 in the regular season and securing third place in the Channel League.
The Chargers also got a first-round bye and will welcome Paloma Valley to Scott O’Leary Stadium on Thursday at 5 p.m. Paloma Valley went 18-2 in the regular season and won the Ivy League.
