The cause of a large fire that destroyed a vacant warehouse in southwestern Santa Maria remained under investigation Wednesday.
Firefighters from the Santa Maria Fire Department responded to the area of South Blosser Road and Knudson Way at 11:15 p.m. Tuesday.
The incident involving the large empty structure generated a large amount of smoke and flames before crews knocked down the fire.
Two minor injuries were reported, according to the Santa Maria firefighters.
Late Wednesday morning, crews from Stations 1 and 3 were back at the scene of the fire.
Additional details were not immediately available.
In addition to Santa Maria Fire Department personnel from all six stations, four Santa Barbara County Fire Department units and a unit from the Five Cities Fire Authority assisted.

The destroyed warehouse sits behind another large warehouse off Blosser Road with apartment complexes on the east and north sides of the property.
A former tenant who moved out of the building weeks ago said his business had been plagued by homeless residents starting fires at the fenced site, and some have damaged old vehicles.
This is the second significant structure fire in Santa Maria in the past month. On April 15, a fire destroyed the Lassens Natural Foods & Vitamin store on South Broadway.
