The local trio of teams dominated the Channel League boys volleyball race this season, as they all finished in the top four of the standings to earn automatic playoff berths.

San Marcos led the way, claiming a Channel League championship under first-year head coach Dave Goss with a record of 9-1. As a result, Goss was named the Channel League Coach of the Year.

In between the lines, San Marcos sophomore Matteo Burdick and Dos Pueblos senior Noah Grant dominated on the outside for their teams en route to earning Co-Player of the Year honors.

While Burdick and Grant pulled in the individual awards, 20 total players picked up All-League honors. Here is the full list of honorees.

San Marcos

The league champion Royals found plenty of success throughout the year, ending the season with a strong overall record of 23-10.

Burdick was joined on the All-Channel League First Team by fellow sophomore Keanu Nguyen and senior Ayden Welch.

Meanwhile, senior Clavin Frisell and sophomore Tyler Walker turned in strong individual seasons and were named to the All-Channel League Second Team.

Junior Koji Hefner and freshman Jamie Hetrick also gave the Royals plenty to look forward to next season and were slotted as All-League Honorable Mentions.

Dos Pueblos

The Chargers ended their season in second place in the Channel League with an overall record of 17-7 and an 8-2 mark against league opponents.

Grant and fellow senior Kawin Ramko were heavy hitters on the outside down the stretch for Dos Pueblos and were rewarded with spots on the All-League First Team.

The trio of senior Nathan Vincent, senior Wyatt Silver and junior Lorenzo DeMatteo played key roles in the team’s success and were named to the All-League Second Team.

Junior Ben Wojobe and sophomore Evan Daugherty rounded out the team’s honors as All-League Honorable Mentions.

Santa Barbara High

The Dons also earned an automatic bid into the CIF-SS playoffs and they made the most of it, making a run to the Division 4 championship match before falling to Sage Hill.

Senior Jack Goligoski and sophomore Hayes Costner were all over the court all season long on their way to All-League First Team selections.

The senior duo of Chase Holdren and Luke Zuffelato earned spots on the All-League Second Team after stellar seasons at setter and outside hitter, respectively.

Senior Benicio Duarte and junior Kristian Dybdahl made their impacts felt at the net in the regular season and down the playoff stretch en route to being named All-League Honorable Mentions.
