While the school year is winding down, the spring sports honors for local high schools continue to roll in.
Carpinteria High fielded numerous standout student-athletes throughout the spring, and many of them were awarded for their performances with All-Citrus Coast League honors.
Here are this year’s spring All-Citrus Coast League members from the Warriors.
Girls Track & Field
The Warrior girls had a stellar season on the track this spring, racing their way to a Citrus Coast League title and the league’s Coaching Staff of the Year Award.
Senior Melanie Avalos capped off her high school career in style, dominating the throws on her way to a pair of All-League First Team honors and the CCL Field Athlete of the Year Award.
Meanwhile, senior Averi Alexander and sophomore Izzy Scott pulled in a pair of All-League First Team nods, while Alexander tallied an All-League Second Team selection as well.
Junior Giarys Gomez, sophomore Kaydence Gardner and freshman Halleh Gahan were all members of the All-League First Team as well. Gardner also earned a Second Team spot for an event while both Gomez and Gahan were Honorable Mentions.
The duo of senior Anna Morrison and junior Vivian Huskins picked up All-League Second Team honors in three separate events, and junior Kiana Kiah was also an All-League Second Teamer.
Sophomore Marely Avalos rounded out the team’s honorees as an All-League Honorable Mention.
Boys Track & Field
On the boys side, senior Nathan Carillo was the top Warrior, pulling in a spot on the All-League First and Second Teams.
Senior Sawyer Kelly was the lone other Carpinteria boy to earn honors, making the All-League Second Team.
Girls Swimming
Carpinteria also excelled in the pool this season, swimming into first place in the Citrus Coast League as Jon Otsuki was named the Coach of the Year.
The underclassmen trio of Izzy Scott, Madison Lee and Lucia Smith showcased the bright future of the program by putting together All-League First Team performances in three events each. Lee and Smith also had one All-League Second Team time apiece.
Senior Guilia Piccoletti and sophomores Lucy Moore and Hazel Dugre each picked up two All-League First Team selections, while Moore and Piccoletti were two-time All-League Second Team selections as well. Dugre also tallied an Honorable Mention nod.
Mina Handall capped off the team’s honorees with a First Team, Second Team and Honorable Mention selection.
Boys Swimming
The Warriors also dominated on the boys side with numerous All-League selections from up and down the roster.
Senior Jake Ehlers, Junior Sky Korling and sophomore Chris Reed were all three-time All-League First Team members. Ehlers was also a Second Team honoree, while Korling picked up an Honorable Mention.
Senior Lucas Martin, junior Jacob Otsuki and sophomore Stefano Piccoletti each recorded a pair of All-League First Team performances and one Second Team selection apiece.
Junior Massimo Bonilla-Zakosek was an All-League First Teamer and an Honorable Mention, while freshman Wyatt Pitterle began his Warrior career with an All-League First Team performance.
Freshman Luke Donahue shined in a pair of events, picking up All-League Second Team and Honorable Mention selections. Meanwhile, sophomore Ryder Shaw joined him on the Second Team.
The sophomore pairing of Oscar DeLeon and Taison Lee swam their way into Honorable Mention spots.
Boys Tennis
The duo of senior Lucas Martin and sophomore Elio Taha rolled through the Citrus Coast League this season on their way to being named the CCL Doubles MVPs.
While Martin and Taha were also on the All-League First Team, they were joined by junior Edwin Hernandez for his standout play in singles action.
Junior Kamran Dadvar, sophomore John Morrison and freshman Ethan Almgren excelled in doubles play for the Warriors on their way to earning Honorable Mention selections.
Boys Volleyball
The Warriors, who finished the season in third place in the CCL, were led on the floor by the juniors and All-League First Team members Alan Maya and Jesus Campuzano. Maya served as the team’s setter while Campuzano was the go-to outside hitter.
Junior middle blocker Rafael Cintura and junior outside hitter Alariuziel Rodriguez also made their impact at the net and were named to the All-League Second Team.
The strong junior class was rounded out by setter Jesus Reyes, libero Kevin Bernal and middle blocker Rafael Montes, who all were slotted in as All-League Honorable Mentions.
Baseball
The junior duo of Micah Smith and Gabe Martinez were the most productive members of the Warriors on the diamond this season, and as a result, they were named to the All-League First Team.
Junior Sam Medel and freshman Jonah Hernandez, both infielders, had strong seasons of their own and represented Carpinteria on the All-League Second Team.
Senior Aiden Alcaraz, junior Dallas Bartholic and junior Charlotte Cooney contributed as utility players on their way to All-League Honorable Mention selections.
Softball
Junior first baseman Cecilia Lemus was the best bat in the Warrior lineup this spring and served as the team’s lone representative on the All-League Second Team.
Meanwhile, senior pitcher Alondra Carrillo, senior pitcher/catcher Savanna Cardenas and junior left fielder Sophia Santana graced the All-League Honorable Mention list.
