Robert “Bob” Janicek, age 89, passed away peacefully at his home in Santa Barbara on April 29, 2025. Bob was born to Joseph and Josephine Janicek on June 5, 1935 in Cudahy, Wisconsin.

Bob was predeceased by his parents; his sister Joan Lewens; and his son John.

He is survived by his sister Janet Handle of Wisconsin; his wife Mary; and his children Robert, Jr. (Cecile), Jill Dowd (Arthur), Jay (Marjorie) and Jo Sadecki (David).

Also surviving him are his grandchildren Bradley (Stephanie), Mathew and Abigail Janicek, Ian (Shannon) Sadecki, Brooke (Ken) Jackson, Kelly Dowd, Stacey (Kyle) Martin, Jessica (Jared) Farris, Breanna (James) Hanseen, Tara Creighton, Timothy Janicek and Krystn Janicek; and 11 great grandchildren who were the light of his life.

Bob attended Marquette University and also Milwaukee School of Engineering. He started his work career with Allen-Bradley, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1957 and finished it 35 years later with Delco Electronics, Santa Barbara.

Bob was an avid golfer and collected golf clubs and memorabilia for many years. He also marshaled at several golf clubs in Santa Barbara.

A private Rite of Commitment was held on May 31 at the Santa Barbara Mission Mausoleum.
