The Santa Barbara Foresters were blanked by the Academy Barons for a 3-0 loss on Thursday at Eddie Mathews Field.

The Foresters (15-6) have now dropped back-to-back games ahead of their annual 4th of July game on Friday. They will host the California Tigers at 4:30 p.m. at Eddie Mathews Field.

In Thursday’s matchup, the Barons scored one run in the third, fifth and sixth innings to claim the victory.

Meanwhile, the Foresters totaled eight hits as a team but couldn’t come through with runners on base, resulting in the shutout loss.

After a strong five innings on the mound from Santa Barbara’s Ka’imi Kahalekai, Andrew Guardino tossed three solid innings of relief and Tag Andrews recorded a no-hit ninth.

Offensively, Terrence Kiel and Caden Miller each tallied two hits atop the Forester lineup. However, it was not enough to help the team push a run across in the defeat.
