Dan Peeters is soaring back to Santa Barbara, this time as an Owl.
Laguna Blanca School announced on Thursday that Peeters has taken over as the school’s new athletic director following the resignation of Matt Steinhaus in the spring.
Peeters, who officially began his role on July 2, has more than 20 years of experience in high school athletics, including 15 years as the Athletic Director at Bishop Diego High School.
“I’m honored to join the Laguna Blanca community,” Peeters said. “I look forward to working alongside students, coaches, families, and faculty to continue building a vibrant athletic program rooted in Owl pride.”
During his time as a Cardinal, the school achieved an 80% student participation rate in athletics. He also oversaw the athletic department during a CIF-SS championship in girls basketball and a CIF State title in football.
His most recent position was as the Athletic Director at Villanova Preparatory School in Ojai, while he has also led the athletic department at La Reina High School in Thousand Oaks.
Peeters is also involved with CIF and league associations, including serving as President of the Tri-County Athletic Association from 2014 to 2022. He is currently the TCAA Vice President and Scheduler.
Laguna Blanca’s fall sports schedule will kick off in late August.
