The 2008-2009 CAMA International Series at The Granada concludes with a concert by the Los Angeles Philharmonic at 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 2.
The program features masterworks of Eastern European composers, including Franz Liszt’s Piano Concerto No. 2 with 2001 Artur Rubinstein Piano Competition winner Kirill Gerstein as soloist.
Also on the program are Zoltán Kodály’s seldom-heard Concerto for Orchestra, and Antonín Dvořák’s quintessentially romantic Symphony No. 8 in G Major. Hans Graf, music director of the Houston Symphony, guest directs the L.A .Phil.
