The Goleta Valley South LL 12U All-Stars lost a heartbreaker to Golden Hill LL, 3-2, via a walk-off in the SoCal State Tournament on Tuesday at Fountain Valley Sports Park.
The GVSLL All-Stars now fall into the loser’s bracket, where they will take on Upland Foothill LL on Wednesday at 6 p.m. with the season on the line.
Tuesday’s game was dominated on the mound, as the game remained tied at 0-0 until the bottom of the fifth inning when Golden Hill belted a pair of homers to take a 2-0 lead.
GVSLL immediately responded in the top of the sixth as Aiden Herrera blasted a game-tying, two-run homer to send the game into the bottom of the sixth.
However, Golden Hill then put together a rally and clinched the win on a walk-off single to remain in the winner’s bracket.
The 2025 GVSLL 12U All-Stars are Blake Bollman, Joseph Demmin, Robert Denny, Alex Glaeser, Aiden Herrera, Rio Lopes, Jackson Murdock, James Short, Eli Swartz, Walker Torres and Brennan Zant.
The team is managed by Brett Bollman, with assistant coaches Jesse Landeros, Ray Torres and Brian Zant.
