Santa Barbara Rodeo Days take to the ring Aug. 1-3 at Earl Warren Showgrounds with the PRCA ProRodeo events, and Miss Rodeo California Janae Wallace making special appearances at all three rodeo performances.

As the official ambassador for the California rodeo community, Wallace brings her spirit and passion for the sport to the event, and fans will have the opportunity to meet her and experience her enthusiasm for the rodeo tradition.

This year, Santa Barbara Rodeo Days will honor Josiah Jenkins, a fifth-generation Californian, and longtime Santa Barbara rodeo legend, with the Rodeo Legacy Award.

Jenkins has played an instrumental role in shaping the tradition of the Santa Barbara Rodeo, and his contributions to the Western heritage of the community will be celebrated during the event.

The award acknowledges Jenkins’ lasting impact on the Santa Barbara rodeo scene. The showgrounds will recognize the Jenkins family, whose dedication and support have been key in fostering the rodeo’s legacy and preserving the traditions that have made the Santa Barbara Rodeo an iconic event.

Aspiring young cowboys and cowgirls will compete in the rodeo fan-favorite mutton bustin’ event. The competition, where kids ride sheep in rodeo style, will take place during each of the three performances.

Rodeo guests can get their country line dancing fix, thanks to a new partnership with the Borderline Bar Performance Dance Team. The performance team will lead line dancing and offer lessons throughout the weekend.

The three-day celebration offers PRCA rodeo performances, a free entry carnival featuring rides; a mercado; food and drinks; live music; and family-friendly fun.

Rodeo showtimes are 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1; 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2; and 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 3. Carnival times are 2-11 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1 and Saturday, Aug. 2; and 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 3.
