A mobile home being transported on Highway 101 apparently became entangled with concrete barriers south of Buellton on Thursday afternoon, temporarily blocking traffic.

At approximately 3:30 p.m., callers notified emergency dispatchers that a mobile home was pinned on a bridge along Highway 101, about 2 miles south of Highway 246.

California Highway Patrol officers and Caltrans personnel responded to the incident, which involved a wide load, to help divert the trapped traffic by using a closed lane to bypass the mobile home transporter vehicle.

A tow truck was not required with crews on scene saying that once they moved the concrete barriers to free the vehicle, it should be able proceed on its way once it becomes “unstuck.”

Segments of Highway 101 south of Buellton remain under construction with K-rails, or concrete barriers, and lane closures in place. That means just one narrow lane is available along some of the route.
