A motorcyclist was rushed to the hospital with major injuries after colliding with an SUV in Santa Maria early Thursday morning, police said.

The crash occurred at approximately 6:04 a.m. in the 2200 block of South Bradley Road.

Emergency personnel arrived on the scene to find the injured motorcyclist in the roadway, Santa Maria Police Sgt. Shane Armstrong said. The individual was transported to Marian Regional Medical Center. 

The driver of the SUV was not injured in the collision.
