Following the group’s performance inaugurating the restored Band Shell in 2024, the Prime Time Band, under the direction of Paul Mori, returns to the open-air stage with familiar pops, spirited show tunes, and classic marches.

Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to choose a spot on the lawn, and bring blankets or beach chairs. The Band Shell is at 100 Castillo St., Santa Barbara.

Founded in 1995, the Prime Time Band is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization and member of New Horizons International Music Association.

The band provides entry points to music-making for adults ages 40 and older, welcoming both total beginners and those returning to music after years away.

Many members had not played an instrument since high school — or ever — before joining the ensemble and discovering the joy of creating music together.

Over the years, the Prime Time Band has performed more than 175 free concerts and has been honored by the city of Santa Barbara as a Santa Barbara Treasure.
