The Lompoc Police Department is investigating a Tuesday night shooting that seriously injured a 17-year-old male. 

Officers responded to multiple reports of gunshots near the intersection of East College Avenue and North G Street at 11:13 p.m.

They discovered the male lying in the roadway suffering from a single gunshot wound, police said.

Officers provided medical aid until Fire Department crews and medics arrived. The victim was transported to the hospital with serious injuries, police said.
