Law enforcement officers are seeking other possible victims of a 19-year-old Santa Barbara man who has been charged with felony stalking, attempted criminal threats and contacting a minor with lewd intent, among other charges.
Vladyslav Romanovich Shylo of Santa Barbara pleaded not guilty in Santa Barbara County Superior Court two months ago to felony and misdemeanor charges, District Attorney John Savrnoch said.
On Wednesday, the District Attorney’s Office, the Santa Barbara Police Department and the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office put out a public statement encouraging anyone with knowledge of crimes linked to Shylo to contact Detective Kelsea King at the Santa Barbara Police Department at 805.897.2341.
Other charges on the complaint include felony witness dissuasion and misdemeanor child annoying or molesting.
The criminal complaint also alleged that Shylo violated his felony probation for a conviction of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor. That case also occurred in Santa Barbara County, with the crimes reportedly occurring in early 2024.
Shylo pleaded not guilty to the new charges on June 23 and is being held at the Santa Barbara County Jail with no bail.
The case is assigned to Judge Stephen Foley in Department 12 of Santa Barbara County Superior Court. The preliminary hearing setting is scheduled for Sept. 15.
“The District Attorney’s Office stands by all survivors of sexual assault. The District Attorney’s Office Victim-Witness Assistance Program ensures all survivors are kept informed and supported throughout the criminal justice process and are available to provide survivors with resources and services,” the DA’s Office said in a statement.
