Elings Park’s Godric Grove and Singleton Pavilion, two popular event locations in Santa Barbara, will be the new sites of Pints for the Park, a fundraiser benefitting Elings Park, 4-8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6.

Perched on a hilltop above the park’s soccer fields, the sites are 400 feet above sea level and provide panoramic views of the Santa Barbara cityscape, Santa Ynez Mountains, Pacific Ocean, and Channel Islands.

This is a new location for the beer festival, which returns after a five-year absence.

“We’ve got views and brews, and so much more at this casual event,” said Dean Noble, Elings Park executive director. “There’s sun and shade, and a cool breeze off the ocean usually kicks up in the afternoon.”

More than 500 beer-and-park-lovers are expected to attend the benefit for America’s largest privately funded park. Elings Park receives no tax dollars or government support.

Elings Park depends entirely on community support, including the Pints for the Park fundraiser, to stay open and admission-free year-round.

Celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, Elings Park was once the site of the city dump. The property was acquired in 1975 by community leaders and later expanded to the current 230 acres — more than twice the size of Disneyland.

Elings Park is now home to sports, recreation, arts, and nature, attracting more than 200,000 visitors annually.

Tickets to Pints for the Park — $65 for general admission, and $85 for VIP access that allows access one hour early (at 3 p.m.) — can be purchased at www.elingspark.org/beerfest.

The event is for ages 21 and older only; a valid ID is required for entry. Last call is at 7:30 p.m. No infants, children, or pets are allowed, including members of the park’s off-leash EPDOG program.

More than 20 breweries, wineries and cideries will be pouring, five food trucks will offer items for purchase, and local DJ Darla Bea will provide music.

Tasting tents will be set up on the lawns of both areas, as well as among the oaks and tables between them. Participants can enjoy a lounge area, lawn games, and other entertainment on the hilltop.

Confirmed participating brewers include: The Brewhouse, Brass Bear Brewing, Casa Agria Specialty Ales, Draughtmen Aleworks, Figueroa Mountain Brew Company, Firestone Walker Brewing Company, Leashless Brewing, Mahrs Brau, Southern California Vibes Co., Third Window Brewing, Topa Topa Brewing Company, and Validation Ale.

Participating wineries are CrossHatch Winery, Lucas & Lewellen Estate Vineyards, Riboli Family Wines, and Sapien Wine.

Cideries include Balcom Canyon Hard Cider, High Seas Mead, Honest Abe Cider, Night Owl Ciderworks, and Single Fin Cider. Food trucks are Big G’s Barbecue, Big Joe’s Tacos, California Poutine, Dave’s Dogs, and Elubia’s Kitchen.
