Santa Maria will hold its 28th Day of Service on Saturday, Sept. 6, when local churches, schools, businesses, nonprofits and the city will team up to make improvements in the community and assist neighbors who need a hand.

Volunteers are needed for 20 different projects, including yard work, graffiti abatement, litter pickup, and work in local parks and at neighbors’ homes.

Individuals and groups are welcome to participate.

Volunteers will meet at Abel Maldonado Community Youth Center, 600 S. McClelland St., 8:30-9 a.m. for coffee, juice, fruit and donuts, or sign up in advance at www.servesantamaria.com.
