A four‑vehicle collision Thursday morning sent two people to Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara with minor injuries, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.

The crash was reported at about 11:03 a.m. at the intersection of Hollister Avenue and Village Way, fire Capt. Scott Safechuck said.

A man and a woman were each transported in separate ambulances to the hospital, Safechuck said.

Westbound lanes of Hollister Avenue were temporarily blocked while emergency crews responded and cleared the scene, he said. The busy corridor includes Hollister Village and Camino Real Marketplace shopping centers.

Personnel from the Sheriff’s Office and California Highway Patrol also responded to the incident.

A sheriff’s deputy directed traffic at the intersection following the crash.
