Dozens of vintage Model A Fords will motor into Santa Barbara as part of the Central California Regional Group (CCRG) Grand Tour to Solvang, Wednesday, Oct. 1.
A Living Parade of Automotive History, the tour includes a stop at the Santa Barbara Carriage and Western Art Museum for photos, and sightseeing.
The event timeline is:
• 9:30 a.m. — Santa Barbara Model A Club members gather at the 76 Station/Timbers Restaurant, 10 Winchester Canyon Road, Goleta, to get ready to welcome visitors.
• 10 a.m. — 25-30 vintage (1928-1931) Model A Fords from clubs across Central California arrive from Solvang, led by Dave Krill of the Model A Ford Club of America and past president of the Paso Robles A’s.
• After arrival at 76/Timbers — Santa Barbara Model A Ford Club president Randy Douglas takes over as leader, organizing cars for the local route.
• 10:15 a.m. — Group photo at historic Barnsdall-Rio Grande Gas Station on Hollister Avenue next to Sandpiper Golf Club.
• Late morning — After a drive through UCSB, Hollister Avenue, Modoc Road and Hope Ranch the caravan arrives at the Carriage Museum, 129 Castillo St., Santa Barbara.
