The Friends of the Buellton Library will host local author Gary Robinson, a Native American of Choctaw/Cherokee descent, in a free program, 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11 at the library, 202 Dairyland Road, Buellton.

Robinson’s presentation will be based on his nonfiction book “From Warriors to Soldiers,” originally published in 2008 and revised in 2014.

He will share little-known facts about Native Americans’ service in the U.S. armed forces from the Revolutionary War to modern times. Their service often went above and beyond the basic call of duty.

Robinson has written several books and produced movies about Native Americans. More about his work can be found at www.Imaginative-Content.com.

He will have signed copies of his book available for purchase. Refreshments will be served at the event.
