Vintage planes showed off their moves at the first day of the Central Coast AirFest Saturday at the Santa Maria Public Airport.
The annual event continues Sunday with gates open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with flying performances expected between 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., depending on weather.
In a departure from previous years, military aircraft and demonstration teams did not attend the event due to the government shutdown.
