A Delta 2 rocket carrying a missile surveillance system launched into mostly clear skies above the Lompoc valley about 1:30 this afternoon.

The launch’s window fell between 1:24 and 1:52 p.m., according to an online launch schedule for Vandenberg Air Force Base.
