Ten local girls traveled to Washington, D.C., last month as part of Girls Incorporated of Carpinteria’s Eureka! program, a five-year, college-bound program that aims to break gender stereotypes and encourages girls to step outside their comfort zones, and discover different career paths and fields. During the five-day trip, the young women met and lobbied with our local representatives, explored museums, toured George Washington University, and visited many sites and monuments.
