On Giving Tuesday, Dec. 2, The Pighetti Project is asking for support for two initiatives designed to strengthen the health and resilience of the local first-responder community.

The Pighetti Project is a Santa Barbara-based, volunteer-led nonprofit created to support first responders and their families with project-based care.

The two initiatives are:

Responder Recovery: Infrared Sauna Program

“We are proud to continue funding recovery resources for our responders through infrared sauna treatments,” organizers said. “This year, we partnered with the Lompoc Fire Department to deliver two infrared sauna units to their stations — tools that provide crucial support for detoxification, stress reduction, and physical recovery.”

Additionally, following the Palisades and Eaton fires, The Pighetti Project provided firefighters with wellness sessions at Restore Wellness, which offers cryotherapy, mild hyperbaric therapy, compression treatments, and infrared saunas.

“Thanks to your thoughtful contribution, our firefighters will be better equipped to recover quickly and stay healthy, ultimately allowing us to serve our community more effectively and safely.” said Lompoc Fire Chief Fallon.

Family Peer Support

“We are equally committed to strengthening the families who stand behind our responders,” the nonprofit said. “Your donation helps fund family peer support through events, activities, clinicians, supplies, and additional resources that nurture connection, resilience, and mental well-being.

To increase the impact of donations, The Pighetti Project has also announced that an anonymous donor has offered to match every donation up to $25,000. That means a $25 donation becomes $50, and larger gifts are doubled as well.

When giving, please note in the comment section which project you would like your gift to support.
