The pre-application period for Buellton Garden Apartments, new affordable housing from People’s Self-Help Housing (PSHH), opens at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13.
Applications will be accessible in English and Spanish at pshhc.org/BGA.
A community meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12 at Buellton Recreation Center Gymnasium to discuss the new project and application process for interested residents. All are welcome to attend and learn more.
Buellton Garden Apartments, at 10 and 12 McMurray Road, Buellton, includes 89 one-, two- and three-bedroom units for households with an annual income at or below 50% of the Area Median Income (AMI).
Of those units, 24 will be set aside for eligible farmworker households making 30%-50% of the AMI. Section 8 vouchers are accepted.
All units will be equipped with a new dishwasher, refrigerator, stove, window coverings, and vinyl flooring throughout. Mobility and sensory accessible units are available.
This is a non-smoking property; pets are accepted, with an extra deposit.
Located near essential services, the Buellton Garden Apartments site has a community room, learning center for students, half basketball court, playground, onsite property management and supportive services for residents.
The property provides residents access to uncovered onsite parking, laundry facilities, and bike racks.
“We are thrilled to bring more affordable housing to the community members of the Santa Ynez Valley with our first ever project in Buellton,” said Ken Trigueiro, CEO/president of PSHH.
“We encourage all of those who qualify to submit their applications in January, and we look forward to welcoming residents home soon,” he said.

Note: Buellton Garden Apartments is still under construction. No pre-applications will be available at the site.
Pre-applications will be accepted through 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3. If mailed, the document must be postmarked by Tuesday, Feb. 3. Those received after this date will be added to the waitlist in the order received.
A randomized lottery will be held the afternoon of Feb. 10 to determine order of processing.
