The three public high schools in town have been pitted against each other on the gridiron for decades, with many standout student-athletes shining bright under the Friday Night Lights.
While San Marcos and Dos Pueblos remain league rivals in the Tri-County League, Santa Barbara High now competes in the Conejo Coast League.
Although the traditional Channel League foes now face off against a different crop of competition, they still boast plenty of impressive student-athletes who pulled in All-League honors for their 2025 seasons.
Dos Pueblos (4-6, 2-3 TCL)
The Chargers were anchored on the defensive end by standout senior Kaarlo Malik-Anderson, who dominated in the trenches on his way to a Tri-County League Co-Defensive Player of the Year award. He shared the honor with Agoura’s Will Gelt.
Malik-Anderson was one of many impressive seniors on the Dos Pueblos defense, as defensive end Iyad Ahmad-Reda and defensive back Andrew Cook earned spots on the All-League First Team.
The senior dominance carried over to the offensive side of the ball, as wide receiver Micah Barnhart, offensive lineman Eder Soriano and running back Callan Lee were also given All-League First Team honors.
Other impact makers on the defensive end included senior linebacker Damien Gomez, junior defensive back Patrick Sullivan and junior linebacker Max Hernandez. They were rewarded with All-League Second Team nods.
Meanwhile, the junior trio of offensive lineman Marcus Carbajal, offensive lineman Wyatt Mitchell and running back Chase Johnson were also rewarded for their strong seasons with All-League Second Team selections.
Junior defensive lineman Hunter Haws, sophomore quarterback Grady Felix and sophomore linebacker Holden Brey rounded out the team’s honorees as All-League Honorable Mentions.
San Marcos (4-7, 3-2 TCL)
The Royals leaned heavily on the senior running back duo of Cole Dominguez and Brody Green all season, and they headline the San Marcos All-League First Team selections. Junior wideout Isaac Murillo joined them as the other offensive player on the First Team.
Meanwhile, senior defensive back Logan Patterson-Deakyne and senior linebacker Dominic Christman capped off their high school careers in style with All-League Second Team seasons.
The trio of junior linebacker Jonahs Ortiz, junior defensive end Max Campbell and sophomore Logan Hale gave San Marcos fans plenty to look forward to next year with All-League First Team campaigns as well.
The Royals’ senior representatives on the All-League Second Team were defensive back Liam Milligan, offensive lineman Arian Botello and offensive lineman Chris Martinez-Avina.
Junior kicker Austin Downing and the sophomore offensive line pairing of Nicholas Martinez and Jonathan Nuñez completed the team’s honorees as All-League Second Team members.
Santa Barbara High (4-6, 1-4 CCL)
Senior Malachi Johnston brought his stellar high school career to an end with a bang, dominating in the trenches on both sides of the ball and earning the Conejo Coast League Offensive Lineman of the Year award.
Johnston was often clearing the way for senior running back Monty Lopez, who headlined the Santa Barbara High All-League First Team honorees.
Lopez was joined on the All-League First Team by junior defensive lineman Lucas Blessing, junior defensive back Reid Miller and sophomore linebacker Henry Crafton.
Senior running back Aaro Baizan and junior offensive lineman Santiago Garcia were key pieces for the Dons offense on their way to All-League Second Team nods.
Meanwhile, the underclass tandem of sophomore wideout Nate Meister, sophomore linebacker Everett Rabb-Preston and freshman offensive lineman Damian Miranda burst onto the scene with All-League Second Team caliber seasons.
The senior linebacking duo of Landon Nelson and Jacob Hurtado were joined by defensive back Ben Medina and sophomore wideout Cade Mault as the Santa Barbara High All-League Honorable Mentions.
