Two people were arrested at a Santa Barbara hotel on Saturday after a GPS tracker on a stolen bicycle led officers there, according to the Santa Barbara Police Department.

Police dispatchers received a 9-1-1 call shortly before 8:30 a.m. about an unreported stolen bike pinging on a tracking device inside a room at the Agave Inn, 3222 State St., police said.

Responding officers were able to see the bicycle clearly through the hotel room window, police said, and tried to contact the two people inside.

However, the pair refused to answer the door or communicate, police said, and one reportedly tried to escape through a bathroom window.

Investigation revealed that the two occupants not only allegedly possessed stolen property, but had outstanding warrants for their arrest.

They eventually surrendered to the officers waiting outside the room, and were taken into custody.

Police said Adrian Rodriguez, 27, and Amanda DeLuna, 28, were booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail on suspicion of theft, narcotics-related offenses, and resisting arrest, in addition to their warrants.

DeLuna remained in custody without bail Saturday night, while Rodriguez’s custody status was unclear.
