A male motorcyclist was transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital after crashing on northbound Highway 101 in Goleta Monday afternoon.

The crash was reported around 1:25 p.m. near Los Carneros Road.

When California Highway Patrol units responded, they found the motorcyclist awake and talking and crawling on the ground, possibly due to a broken leg, according to CHP Officer Michael Munoz.

Authorities closed one lane of traffic in the area during the response, but traffic was moving again about one hour later.

It’s unknown if another vehicle was involved in the incident, as the CHP is still investigating.
