Laguna Blanca’s Theatre Department will present three performances of “Laughing Stock,” a backstage farce that offers a warm and witty tribute to the world of live theater.
The show, directed by Dana Caldwell, will be Jan. 16, 17 and 18 in the school’s Spaulding Theatre, 4125 Paloma Drive, Santa Barbara.

In Charles Morey’s “Laughing Stock,” comic chaos unfolds when The Playhouse — a rustic, underfunded New England summer stock company — schedules a wildly ambitious repertory season of “Dracula,” “Hamlet” and “Charley’s Aunt.”
Audiences follow the earnest but overextended company from outlandish auditions to ego-driven rehearsals to opening nights that go disastrously off the rails.
“The result is a heartfelt and hilarious celebration of the unpredictable magic of theater,” Laguna Blanca Theater Department said.
Performances times are: Friday, Jan. 16, 7 p.m. ; Saturday, Jan. 17, 7 p.m. ; and Sunday, Jan. 18, 2 p.m.
Tickets are available online here. Ticket prices are $15 general admission; $12 for students and seniors.
