The Santa Barbara Police Department invites city residents to participate in a Drug Take Back Day, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10 at La Cumbre Plaza.

The Police Department’s Drug Take Back Day provides a safe, secure and convenient opportunity for residents to properly dispose of unused or expired prescription medications.

Community members are encouraged to clean out their medicine cabinets and take part in this prevention effort.

“Community participation plays a vital role in reducing access to potentially dangerous medications and promoting a safer, healthier community,” the Police Department said.

Uniformed officers will be on site to collect medications and ensure they are disposed of properly. This service is free and anonymous.
