Santa Barbara Police Department officers arrested a 20-year-old Santa Barbara man on suspicion of driving under the influence and other offenses Wednesday night after responding to reports of vehicle collisions on the Westside.
The man, identified by police as Jhonathan Duran-Carrasco, was arrested on suspicion of committing a felony while out on bail, felony DUI, and felony hit and run. His bail was set at $100,000 and he remained in jail custody as of Thursday morning.
Officers first responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision with possible injuries at the intersection of West Cota Street and Wentworth Avenue at around 9:17 p.m. One person was injured and later transported to the hospital, police said.
Officers responding to the first collision were flagged down by a member of the public informing them of a second collision with injuries near the intersection of San Pascual Street and Del Monte Avenue. The suspect in that collision, a driver in a grey Hyundai Elantra, had left the scene, police said.

A member of the public in the area pointed officers to a suspect, and police made an arrest at gunpoint on the 600 block of Wentworth Avenue.
Duran-Carrasco “was showing signs of being under the influence of alcohol and a DUI investigation was conducted,” police said.
The person injured in the second vehicle collision was treated at the scene, police added.
These two incidents remain under investigation, police said Thursday.
The department said the investigation is ongoing and that the suspect driver and vehicle from the first collision was not at the scene when officers arrived. “Additional investigation is being conducted to ensure the suspect is properly identified,” the department said in a statement Thursday.
