Drivers and bicyclists heading along Highway 154 this week should expect 10- to 30-minute delays while crews clear and repair debris catchment areas that filled up during the late December and early January storms, Caltrans District 5 officials said on Monday.
Starting Tuesday, Caltrans crews will intermittently close both directions of the highway between Painted Cave Road and Camino Cielo Road, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Work should wrap up by Friday at 1 p.m.
“Crews will also use closure times to loosen larger material above the roadway,” Caltrans representatives said on Monday. “The clearing and repair of rockfall netting will ensure that these important safety features will be serviceable during other storms this winter.”
Drivers can take Highway 101 as a detour to avoid the work-related delays.
