Bring the whole family to share the afternoon with the Santa Maria Philharmonic for the “Fly Me to The Moon” concert at First Christian Church on Saturday, Jan. 31, at 11 a.m. Experience the thrill of live music and multimedia fusion in a presentation that celebrates science, technology, imagination and the arts.

This popular introduction to the wonderful world of live orchestral music will be presented free to the public, with Maestro Michael Nowak conducting the orchestra and soloists in an hour-long performance of works by Tchaikovsky, Beethoven and Williams.

The show begins with a live demonstration and introduction to each family of instruments in the orchestra. The performance that follows tells a story about the history of flight, brought to life with selections from the orchestra’s repertoire and projected multimedia images. Fly Me to The Moon is truly a spectacular show that will delight all ages.

This is a free event, but due to capacity restrictions, reservations must still be made. To make reservations or obtain information on youth programming and other events in the Santa Maria and surrounding areas, please visit us at SMPHILHARMONIC.org.
