Bishop Diego girls soccer brought its regular season to an end with a 3-2 loss to Del Sol on Wednesday.
“We’re so pleased with the improvement even from just a few days ago,” Cardinals head coach Dillan Bennett said. “Del Sol is talented and well coached, and we were able to compete with them at times.
“The team worked better together today than the last go-round, which ends up giving us great momentum heading into playoffs.”
Bryleigh Laurent scored one of the Bishop Diego goals, while Lindsay Doyle racked up 27 saves for the Cardinal defense.
The Cardinals, who finished second in the Frontier League, will await their CIF-SS playoff draw on Saturday.
