A female pedestrian was taken to the hospital Monday night after reportedly being struck by a hit-and-run vehicle in downtown Santa Barbara.

The Santa Barbara City Fire Department and other emergency personnel responded at 10:22 p.m. to Vine Avenue and East De La Guerra Street for a report of a pedestrian down in the roadway after a collision with a car, according to emergency radio traffic.

Witnesses told Noozhawk that the suspect vehicle, an SUV, was going eastbound on East De La Guerra Street when it hit two parked cars.

The suspect vehicle then hit the pedestrian at East De La Guerra Street and Vine Avenue.

The suspect reportedly drove off from the scene and crashed their vehicle on the 400 block of East Canon Perdido Street before fleeing on foot, according to radio traffic.

A fire official said the victim was taken by AMR ambulance to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.

Details about her injuries and condition were not immediately available.
