Santa Barbara County fighters responded Friday to a fire at a single-family, two-story home on the 7000 block of Evergreen Drive in Goleta.

Crews were dispatched at 9:47 a.m. to the two-story home, and found smoke and flames coming mainly from the garage area, according to fire Capt. Mike Gray.

The fire was reported knocked down at 10:03 a.m.

Smoke infiltrated both floors of the home.

“Firefighters searched the residence and located one cat suffering from smoke inhalation,” Gray said.

The cat recovered after being given oxygen, and was reunited with its family.

No other injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
