Craig Allen Monn, born Dec. 9, 1956, passed away on Jan. 11, 2026. A longtime resident of Santa Maria, Craig was a treasured presence in his neighborhood and community.

He was born and raised in Atascadero, California, where his roots and many of his lifelong connections began.

Craig is survived by his daughter Lauren Monn (James Dehmel). He will be deeply missed by his chosen sons Zachariah and Elijah Carlson, who regarded Craig as a guiding figure in their lives.

Craig spent the majority of his career as a lineman for PG&E, a role he took great pride in and where he dedicated many years of committed service.

Outside of work, Craig could often be found cheering on his beloved San Francisco 49ers; casting a fishing line in his favorite spots; or training at the local gym, where he was known as a familiar and enthusiastic fixture.

In honor of Craig’s love of nature, learning and community, the family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers or gifts, a native plant be added to your garden or a small donation be made to the Santa Maria Library Association.

Rather than a traditional funeral, a living memorial has been established in Craig’s name at the Laguna Lake Memorial Tree Grove in San Luis Obispo, California, providing a peaceful place for reflection and remembrance.
